A good range of shade tolerant, spring and early summer flowering wildflowers and grasses. The flowers are woodland species which are adapted to growing amongst established trees where shading has reduced light levels to below 50% of that in the open. In very deep shade (ie, light levels below 25%) grasses will no longer grow, so only flowers are required - in these conditions our 100% woodland wildflowers mix will be suitable.
The grasses in this mix tolerate moderate shading. These grasses provide initial ground cover and weed suppression. To a degree the grasses act as a "nurse" to the woodland flowers.
