All contact with our customers is usually via e-mail - therefore if you have placed an order please check your e-mail regularly!
DELIVERY
Weight is calculated at checkout. The most you will pay is £8.99, (unless your order is particularly large and this will be confirmed and agreed with you). Other price brackets are £1.00. £2.75 and £4.99.
Delivery charges £1.00 and £2.75 will be sent via Royal Mail. The £4.99 and £8.99 options are by courier and delivered the day after sending out.
Delivery is to UK mainland only. The following areas cannot be delivered to unless an additional delivery charge is made:
Postcodes - all IV KW 1 - 14 PA 34, 37, 38 and 39 PH19 - 26, 30 - 40, 49 and 50 PH41 sector 4 (Scottish Highlands)
Ireland and Northern Ireland
ALL islands off the UK mainland
The delivery charge to any of the above is at least £50 - please phone your order through if delivery is to any of the above areas.
Most orders are sent via courier for next day delivery - that is, delivery will be the day after your order is ready for despatch. The exceptions to this delivery schedule are:
- bulbs (delivery times are detailed with them in the shop)
All orders receive an automated e-mail and then one from a human being giving an exact delivery date. We aim to deliver within 2-5 working days (with the exceptions noted above), often sooner. If there is to be a delay for whatever reason you will be advised of this.
SHIPPING
Delivery is via Interlink Express or Royal Mail, depending on what you have bought. Your delivery method is shown at checkout. Delivery via Interlink requires a signature. When you receive your e-mail regarding delivery please let us know as soon as possible if the date is inconvenient, or if the package is to be left somewhere. If you are not in on the day of delivery your package(s) will go back to the depot for delivery to be attempted again the next day.
PAYMENT
Orders can be made online, by telephone, fax, e-mail or post. Payments can be made by cheque, cash or credit/debitcard (Mastercard, Visa, Visa Electron, Solo, Maestro).
Payment is in advance of order being sent. Plants/seeds will not be sent out and invoiced for later. However, a non-refundable deposit (agreed with the customer and ourselves) will secure an order and the plants will be reserved until the customer is ready to pay for them prior to delivery. Please phone or e-mail for further information.
Cheque payments - Please make your cheque payable to The English Cottage Garden Nursery and send to Eggarton Cottages, Eggarton Lane, Godmersham, Kent, CT4 7DY. If cheques are re-presented as unpaid, a £15.00 administration fee will be levied each time the cheque is returned unpaid.
REFUNDS/RETURNS/CANCELLATIONS
The English Cottage Garden Nursery cannot be held responsible for plants that do not thrive after planting. This is because a number of factors could be involved, such as planting position, inclement weather conditions, or even just a fickle plant which has refused to abide by the rules and grow properly!
However, we will replace plants that arrive damaged as long as we are notified within 24 hours of the customer receiving the plants and details provided about what is wrong with the plants. The plants MUST be signed for as damaged otherwise no refund or replacement will be made.
As the products we offer are perishable, the English Cottage Garden Nursery is exempt from giving customers the right to cancel the contract, as required by the Distance Selling Regulations 2000.
Personalised wedding favours are also non-refundable as they are one-offs made to order and so cannot be re-sold.
SUBSTITUTION
If plants become unavailable in the time between you placing your order and us receiving it, we will telephone or e-mail you to see if you require any substitutes. If no substitutes are required a refund will be issued.
GIFTS
If you want to send plants etc as a gift, this can be arranged at no extra cost, with the inclusion of aa small card with wording of your choice.
COMPLAINTS
If you have any complaints about our service please e-mail or telephone us. We are keen to provide our customers with a good, friendly, quality service and products and would rather you complained to us than to a friend! Complaints will be acknowledged within 24 hours.
