Sea Campion (silene maritima)

P.  Wildflower of coastal areas.  Grey-green leaves form a cushion from which emerge thin stems topped by white flowers  very similar to Bladder Campion.  Height 12 inches.  Flowers June to August.

Sneezewort (achillea ptarmica)

P.  Thin leaves and tall stems of small, pretty white flowers.  Also known as Adder's Tongue and Hardhead.  Height about 2 ft or so.

Star of Bethlehem (ornithogalum umbellatum)

7 cm pot of 3 or 4 bulbs.  Meadow/grassy area wildflower.  Pretty star-shaped flowers with white petals which are green underneath.  Look great in drifts in grass.  Flowers April/May.  Flowers are hermaphrodite, being pollinated by insects.  Will grow in full sun or light shade.  needs moist soil.

B.  Excellent bee wildflower, found on wasteland and verges.  Tall thick stems topped by oval prickly flowerheads which hold masses of tiny mauve flowers.  Birds love the seeds when the flowers have gone.  Height about 5 ft.  Looks just as good when the mauve flowers have gone!
