Hardy perennial. Large globular heads of blue flowers, atop tall stems. Grows to about 4 ft (1.2 m) high.
Good bee, bumblebee and butterfly plant. Seeds are eaten by finches.
Plant in full sun or light shade - better flowers are produced in poorer soil. Deadhead regularly to promote more flowers. Cut back stems in autumn after flowering.
