DOG VIOLET (VIOLA CANINA)

Perennial with pretty mauve flowers, paler in colour than Sweet Violet, and also scentless (this being the reason it is called Dog Violet). Found in the wild in hedgebanks and woods. Flowers April to August. Low-growing.

Plant in a shady spot.
